Ursulines in Ireland
The Ursuline Sisters came to Ireland in 1771 at the invitation of Nano Nagle who later founded the Presentation Sisters. From this beginning in Cork Ursulines have responded to invitations to move to new places in Ireland and onto Wales and Kenya.

Ursulines in Wales
Wales was the practical implementation of Ursuline cooperation when sisters from Thurles, Blackrock, Sligo and Waterford together responded to an invitation to open a school and community in Brecon.

Ursulines in Kenya
Kenya is established as a region of the Irish Ursuline Union. Ursuline Sisters first went to Kenya from the Sligo community in 1957 to the Diocese of Kitui. It was here they began the ministry of education for girls.
