Remembering Sr Marie Connolly RIP

Sr Marie (Teresa) Connolly      1932 – 2018

Born in Caltra, Co Galway to Danny and Agnes Connolly. Marie spent a number of years in the Ursuline Convent, Sligo and attended Galway University taking an Arts Degree. In 1962 she was appointed to Kitui, Kenya and worked for many years in St Angela’s Secondary School. She supported the growth of the Kenyan Region in many ways including as Formator and Regional Leader.

Marie embodied the “Esprit De Corps” of her foundress St. Angela Merici. In her commitment to religious life Marie honoured her patron Saint, St Ursula. After a number of years, Marie retired to Ard Chiaráin, Shannon Bridge, that special oasis of prayer and tranquility in Moore and Clonfad Parish. Marie in her quiet gentle ways made a lasting mark on all who knew her.   May her memory continue to inspire us on our life’s journey and May she Rest in Peace.
