Becoming an Ursuline Sister has its beginnings in a personal invitation from God. An invitation to set out on a journey with God – a response to a call to “come, follow me”
Everyone is called to a particular way of life – some of us are called to be Ursuline Sisters. Our foundress, Angela Merici, in her vision at Brudazzo experienced a call from God that eventually led her to forming the Company of Saint Ursula, which over the years developed into the Ursuline Sisters.
Do you feel God inviting you to “come – follow”?
Do you feel called to a closer relationship with God?
Do you desire a life of prayer and contemplation?
Do you want to live in the company of others who share the same desire as you?
Do you seek to be of service to others in your life?
Do you want to be part of bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to others, of building the Kingdom of God here in the world?
If your answer is yes to these questions – perhaps God is calling you to join us – inviting you to consider following Angela Merici as an Ursuline Sister
We invite you to take time to pray about the invitation you are hearing in your life…
We invite you to contemplate the stories of call in the Old and New Testament in the Bible:
Ruth – Book of Ruth 1:15-18
Samuel – 1 Samuel 3:1-21
Jeremiah – Jeremiah 1:4-10
Luke 1:26-38
Take the first step – We invite you to contact us – we will be happy to meet you and to talk about our way of life with you…
What happens next…
The first step after making initial contact with the Ursulines, is an opportunity to visit and experience Ursuline life over a period of time, depending on one’s circumstances.
This is followed by a more formal formation training into the values of Ursuline Religious Life and covers a period of two years of discernment between you the and the congregation.
This would lead to a formal commitment by vows to the Ursuline way of life, initially covering a period of temporary profession and leading eventually to Perpetual Profession.
